Organic Lawn Program
Lawn Fertilizing and Soil Analysis
Our Organic Lawn Care Program consists of five organic-based fertilizer treatments, core aeration, and a laboratory soil analysis. This program will meet the nutritional needs of the turf, as well as reduce soil compaction and thatch build-up. Please note that no treatments for weeds, insects or diseases are included in this program because effective organic control products are still unavailable. The soil analysis will determine the soil’s pH and nutrient levels. Additional treatments such as lime may be needed based on the results of the soil analysis.
1. Early Spring
This application consists of an organic-based fertilizer. This application is applied between March and April each year.
2. Late Spring
This application consists of a second organic-based fertilizer. This application is applied between April and June each year.
3. Summer
During the summer months an organic-based fertilizer is applied, and a soil analysis is done to determine the pH and nutrient levels of the lawn. Based on the results, future treatments will be adjusted to supplement any deficiencies.
4. Early Fall
This application consists of an organic-based fertilizer. This application is applied between September and October each year.
5. Late Fall
This application consists of an organic-based fertilizer. This application is applied between october and November each year.
6. Core Aeration
Core Aeration, performed annually, allows air, water and nutrients to more readily reach the root zone, relieves soil compaction, and reduces thatch buildup. This is done in the fall every year.
